Garing, Taylor & Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our team in Arroyo Grande, California. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse and impactful land development and public works projects while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design and execution of client projects in accordance with generally accepted engineering practices, including grading and drainage designs, water and sewer systems, and stormwater management (SWM).
  • Prepare Design Documents for project entitlements and Construction Documents for a range of projects, from commercial and residential developments to large-scale public works projects.
  • Perform hydrology calculations and prepare hydrology reports, ensuring compliance with local SWM requirements and municipal regulations.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrology software to produce high-quality designs and reports.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, permitting agencies, and contractors, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to GTA’s strong mentoring program, fostering professional growth and development within the team.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification in California.
  • 5 to 7 years of technical engineering experience, including project management and leading teams.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrology software.
  • Demonstrated experience with grading and drainage designs, water and sewer systems, hydrology reports, and SWM.
  • Strong understanding of SWM requirements in local municipalities.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A natural ability to mentor and coach team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with public agency and capital improvement projects, including engineering inspections for stormwater drainage systems and vertical construction.
  • Certified QSD and Resident or Deputy Engineer experience.
  • Exceptional track record with complex land development and public works projects.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $110,000 – $140,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
